St. Petersburg, Florida-The main dorm on the University of South Florida campus in downtown St. Petersburg was evacuated overnight after a minor flood sent water into an electrical room setting off the fire alarm.
The USF Police Department estimates more than 100 students living in Residence Hall One had to evacuate around 11:00pm Tuesday night until fire crews determined the building was safe to reenter shortly before midnight.
USF journalism student Nicole Groll sent us pictures of fire trucks around the building and says the water is believed to have come from a washing machine leak.
